Slowly moving up the water column.....

Cooler days and cold nights are starting to help the water temperature to gradually cool down so therefore start the fish to feed higher up the water column. Beetles and buzzers have been the best used as a washing line method. Other methods that have worked have been bloodworm and black dancers when fished on a intermediate line but still you may need to count to around 35 (4 to 5 foot) to begin to get any success. Lots of doubles being spotted around the lakes but  they seem to be more willing to feed when conditions are more overcast. Fish of the week goes to Mr Roger Parkin from Hyde with a cracking rainbow weighing in at 18lb 6oz caught on a cats whisker fished from a sinking line. Plenty of big blues going in this week so get ready for those acrobatic fights with some stunning fish, plus the regular big doubles.......and possibly a seasons blue trout record is ready to be stocked.
