Another cracking week......
Fishing has been the best its been for a long time with some anglers reporting catches of over 30 fish, lots of fish in and around the 5lb mark especially on the lower lake where bags of a three fish limit have weighed in over 15lb have been common. Five doubles out this week best being 19lb 6oz followed by 3 more around the 16lb mark which one of them caught by Mr Stuart Hambleton from County Durham wins fish of the week.....he caught the fish on a home tied zonker fished from a intermediate line from the life buoy area. Best tactics have been bloodworms and egg flies on the floaters and rabbit style patterns fished on sinking lines but still not to deep, probably up and around the 5 foot mark. Hundreds of fish are holding up in the bay area in the warmer water where the spring comes in and best tactics for these fish seem to be floating patterns like floating fry's and black beetles.
