Finally the rain has stopped.....

After 60 hours of non stop rain the rain gods have finally turned off the taps! the lake has rose by around 8 inches and would of rose by much more if we had not have had both 6 inches valves running on full capacity. Although the weather has been poor the fishery has not had a blank for 3 days and with a dry spell now due for the next few days the fish should be well up for it. With all the rain the fish have been feeding sub surface with diawl bachs, sunk daddies and buzzers fishing well on floating lines. Intermediate lines have caught well on cats whiskers and olive damsels. Fish of the week goes to Mr Derrick Horsefield from Keithley with a 15lb 12oz beauty caught on a snake pattern fished from a intermediate line, Derrick as been a regular this year coming almost every week chasing his first Pennine double so for that he gets a well done from me!!! Angler of the week goes to Mr Peter Norris from Mansfield with a catch of 21 fish, best being 12lb rainbow, 7lb brownie and a 5lb blue in my eyes this is what a saltwater fisherman would call a "grand slam" of the stillwater fish. This week see's the end of the Friday late evening fishing and the weekend late pass for another year, many thanks again for the supporters of this event.
