More wall to wall sunshine........

The weather over the past week has been great, it's a welcomed relief from all the rain in previous months and we are starting to see the water getting very clear as things begin to settle down to a more "normal / predictable" conditions. Recent fishing has been great, although the early morning has been a bit slow as it's needed the sun just to warm up the surface band of water due to the cool nights. Best tactics for the early starters would a intermediate line with a bunny leach or similar rabbit style lure fished around the 5 foot mark, the dam wall being the best area to fish. As from 11.00am you should be able to get away with the floating line with bloodworms, black blobs and possibly a floating fry if the fish are showing. Fish of the week goes to Mr Phillip Partington from Todmorden with a 17lb 5oz rainbow caught in the bay area on a home tied egg fly fished at 5 foot. other notable catches were Mr John Dawson with a nice 9lb brownie caught on a cats whisker and Mr Paul Davis of Leeds with a 28 fish haul, best at 15lb mainly to buzzers and mini damsels. The lower lake this Sunday (16th) is closed due to a private match so booking is advised for the top lake.
